Wedding Photography in St. Pete, Florida

Hey, I’m Miguel Celis, a wedding photographer based here in St. Petersburg, FL. I’ve lived here long enough to say this city just feels different. The sunsets hit the water a certain way, the colors shift every few minutes, and even on cloudy days, the light still does something special.

I’ve shot weddings all over the area – St. Pete Beach, The Vinoy, the pier downtown, even a few tiny backyard ceremonies that turned out amazing. Doesn’t matter how big or small the day is. What matters to me is catching the real stuff – the laugh right before a kiss, a hand squeeze, a moment where you forget the camera’s even there.

That’s what I do. That’s what I love.

How I Work

When I show up to shoot a wedding, I don’t bring a ton of attitude or a huge crew. It’s just me, my gear, and a plan to keep things calm.

I’ll guide you a little, but I’m not going to stage every moment. I’d rather let the day play out and find those natural shots that actually mean something later. You won’t hear me yelling poses. I’ll usually say something like “just walk and talk for a sec,” or “hold her hand and look out that way.” And before you know it, we’ve got the shot.

Lighting, angles, timing… that’s all my problem. You two just have fun.

Engagement Photos in St. Pete

A lot of couples start with an engagement shoot, and honestly, I think it’s the best way to warm up before the wedding. It’s chill. No pressure.

We can meet somewhere that fits your vibe – maybe downtown near the murals, Vinoy Park, or somewhere quiet by Crescent Lake. I like shooting right around sunset because St. Pete light at that hour is unreal.

Most people tell me, “We’re awkward in photos.” Don’t worry, everyone says that. My job’s to make it feel easy, and I promise by the end you’ll forget the camera’s even there.

Beach Wedding Photography in Florida

Beach weddings are a huge part of my life. The light here, the reflection off the Gulf, even the wind; it all adds something different every single time.

When I do beach wedding photography in Florida, I’m watching the weather, the tides, and the light constantly. I’ve learned how to use all that to make your photos feel natural, not blown out or too dark. I’ve shot at St. Pete Beach, Treasure Island, Madeira, and Pass-a-Grille more times than I can count. I still find new little angles every time.

If you’re doing a beach ceremony, plan for about an hour before sunset. Trust me, that’s the magic light.

Why I Love Shooting in St. Pete

This city’s got a personality. The beaches, downtown murals, the pier, even random alleyways have good light. Every wedding feels new here, even if it’s at the same spot.

I’ve met couples from all over the country who come to St. Pete just to get married. And I get it. Between the colors, the energy, and the way the sunsets hit the Gulf, it’s one of the best places to shoot a wedding anywhere.

But for me, it’s home. I’m not just flying in for the day – I’m part of the community, and I love capturing what makes this place special.

A Quick Tip

If you’re planning a wedding here, especially outdoors, bring backup shoes. The grass gets soft after rain, and some spots on the sand can sink fast. Also, the light moves quickly at sunset. If you want those golden photos, plan your ceremony for about an hour before sundown.
